Singers, Musicians and Music Lovers wanted for the Thursday Sessions at The Cons Club, Rushden, High Street South, Northamptonshire. This night is for electric and acoustic players.

Mic Night Every Thursday. Great Sound System. The drinks are very cheap. Starts around 9 pm until late. If you like to sing or play or just like live music. Come Along and have some fun and meet some new people. This is not just just an acoustic night. So feel free to bring whatever instrument you like to play.

Tuesday is Bluesday - This is a weekly event every Tuesday. The fantastic Tony Jones will be hosting what is billed to be a 'free and easy night of Blues'. An open mic come jam night with the odd featured artist thrown in. Come and help spread the blues.

The Singaround - First Thursday of each month Mo Shotter presents the Singaround evening. Start 7.30 pm. A mic-free evening. Acoustic instruments welcome. Poets and unaccompanied singers also welcome. All ability levels welcome - an informal, friendly setting to gain confidence in if you are new to performing, or to perform the latest song you've written, if you're more experienced... Blues, folk, country, blue-grass,contemporary - let's have a variety, and broaden our horizons! VIVE LIVE MUSIC!

More info Hosted by Carlos Stein and Mr T.Edward Devilish, Broken Mic is a genuinely alternative Open Mic performance opportunity for the unconventional, the anachronistic, the archaic and the just plain odd. Guitarists and conventional acts are always welcome but we particularly want to hear unusual songs and interesting instruments, whether they be cellos, bowed saws, tea-chest basses, accordions, laptops running Ableton, circuit-bent children's toys or lone nutters with MP3 backing tracks who want to try out material on an unwitting audience. Maybe you wanna dance with spoons glued to your head? We can arrange that.

Mondays

One of the best is the City Acoustic Club and this takes place on Mondays at The Musician, Clyde Street, Leicester, starting around 8.30 p.m. Entry is free to singers or £1 to listeners.

There is acoustic music session every Monday night at the Queen Victoria pub in Syston. It kicks off at 9 pm. Banjos fiddles flutes etc. all welcome. Mainly traditional accoustic.

Tuesdays

Open mic for singers and musicians at Odyssey, 32 Millstone Lane, Leicester, LE1 5JN from about 8.30. Entry is free.

Loughborough: The Doghouse. Also see www.myspace.com/liveacousticspecial. Venue: The Doghouse (left side of The Greyhound , 69 Nottingham Road, Loughborough.

How to find the venue: The Doghouse is a part of the Greyhound Inn in Loughborough but you get into it through its own entrance so it is separate in a way. Whichever way you come in, when you are in Loughborough look for signs for Nottingham. These will put you on the Nottingham Road (A60) which is the road you want. Going out from the town centre on that road look for the Greyhound pub on the right. The Doghouse is next to the Greyhound down the left hand side. If you go past the railway station you have gone too far and need to come back into Loughborough. Howard Coleman organises this one. It takes place every 6 weeks at The Doghouse. £3 on the door (£2 for concessions - unemployed, students, OAPs etc) all of which goes to Oxfam.

Wednesdays
