Heroes to play at Glastonbury festival
Leicester band THE HEROES are to play on the BBC stage at the Glastonbury Festival on Friday 26th June (afternoon). This was announced by Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe on Wednesday night. Check out The Heroes at Glastonbury on the BBC web site.On Saturday night the Heroes at the Musician won through to the finals of OBS.

The Waits win Empire Band of the Land
Coalville based band THE WAITS have won the Empire Band of the Land competition, with Holy Bones and M48 coming second. The Waits are our band of the month.

Changes at Sumo
TIMES ARE CHANGING AT SUMO: After two and a half years of promoting at Sumo, Grant is moving on to a new career in primary school teaching. He will still be promoting part time in various venues with Club Beaux Yeux.
The new full time promoter of sumo will be Andy Wright. Andy previously ran the legendary Charlotte venue in Leicester. He will now turn his hand to the basement venue of Sumo. Glastonbudget festival - the best yet
Three days of bands and sunshine saw the best ever Glastonbudget Festival, at Wymeswold near Loughborough.
Stayfree Music to move out of Lillie House.
Providers of rehearsal rooms, internet and other services, Stayfree, plan to move out of their Conduit Street building in May to new premises currently being commissioned in Frog Island, next to the canal. They will retain a number of rooms on the first floor of Lillie House for long term rooms for bands.
Two more local bands get through at Surface Festival
Formal Warning and M48 both qualified in heat 1 of the national bands competition of Surface Unsigned, on Sunday at Birmingham's Flapper Venue. Earlier, Leicester indie band The Heroes made it through heat 1 of national bands competition Surface Unsigned and got the industry vote.
