Kav
Spreading himself between Los Angeles and London, one of Leicester's finest exports, Kav, was about to play straight after a grueling three day trip to India.
Normally very dynamic and engaging to watch live, I was looking forward to seeing this 'master of swagger' and was really hoping he could last the night.

I am in Love at Firebug, 25th November

Shortwave Fade, Silent Devices and I am in Love
Three electro indie bands on show tonight at Firebug, all well established and having had multiple EP releases between them.
Having previously released a single and an album, tonight was to mark the release of I am in Love's first EP, Call Me An Animal.
It seems every time I see them, they're between European and UK tours and this was no exception as they're at the tail end of their UK tour and soon to embark on another mini German one straight after Christmas - it was good to catch up with them and see how they're maturing.

Big names at the Lock tonight, with The Ferris, who are popular locally, I Dream in Colour who are more well-known nationally and the new kids on the block, Raptusound. All dishing up a similar sound, was it worth venturing out for on a cold, winter's Sunday night?

Glory for a Dead Man at the Soundhouse, 10th November

Cassius Povey, Unknown Bullet and Glory for a Dead Man
Hard-core on the bill tonight at the Soundhouse. A packed venue full of young bands and lots of enthusiastic and vocal young fans. Debut gig too for the headliners. A lot going on, the sound and lighting engineers were poised for action for a challenging night ahead.

The Moderators at the Music Café, 4th November

No Idea and The Moderators
A covers night tonight. Not just any old covers bands, but Leicester's finest, The Moderators have mastered their art and then some.
The Moderators were creating a buzz, not just in the venue, but in the whole of Braunstone Gate, it seemed. Having been around for eighteen years they have a big following, I had to see if it was because of their age, or if it was justified.
