Band of the Month showcase gigs

Artsin decided to organise a series of showcase concerts in 2010 so that our chosen Bands of the Month could headline at a show, where we invite members of the music industry to come down and see them play live. Other support slots were given to future BOTM bands, singers of the month or to touring bands that we have featured.

The concerts were intended to bring our featured bands to a wider audience and form part of a broader package of promotion and publicity both locally and on a national level.

We choose a band to feature in BOTM based on our judgment about their musical excellence and through following their gigs over a period of time and by discussing the band with people in the local industry whose opinion we value.

It is not possible to vote to secure a slot as a featured band because we do not want to to engage in popularity contests. We want to find the best musical talent in Leicester/shire and give them some promotion based on their artistic quality and future potential. Hence, we select both established bands and young bands who show exceptional promise.
